- Entrance: stairs, ramp, elevator, door width, and winter access.
- Washrooms: accessible, gender-neutral, attendant space, and distance from program area.
- Service animals or pets: ask the exact policy before travelling.
- Communication: ASL, interpretation, plain-language support, phone-only barriers, forms, and wait times.
- Sensory environment: crowding, lighting, noise, privacy, and ability to step out.

- Ask what access needs matter most today; do not guess from appearance.
- Document accommodations requested and confirmed, not unnecessary health details.
- Build a fallback if the first site is not accessible when the person arrives.
